PASSION FOR
WHAT WE DO

From humble beginnings, running through vineyards and stealing grapes as children, our love for wine runs deep. It's a passion that has grown with us over the years, rooted in the simple joys of family, friendship, and the beauty of the land.

Three Elms is headed up by the talented husband and wife winemaking team, Laura and Tim Penniment. Their shared passion for wine, which began in their childhood running through the vineyards of Frankland River and stealing grapes, has been the driving force behind our brand's success.

Laura and Tim's journey in the world of wine started when they studied winemaking together. Their love for wine led them to travel the world, seeking out not only their favourite varieties but also those they believed could thrive in their home region of Frankland River. They worked tirelessly to create wines in traditional styles that showcase the unique character of the place they call home.

During their travels, Laura and Tim gained invaluable experience at renowned wineries across the globe. At Hugel in Riquewihr, Alsace, a winery with over 13 generations of history, they fell in love with the enchanting Gewürztraminer variety. In Paarl, South Africa, at Vrede en Lust, they learned the art of crafting Cabernet Franc in a light, bright, and aromatic style. Their visits to Germany for their love for Riesling as well as their admiration for Spanish Tempranillo and Grenache further shaped their winemaking philosophy, as they recognized the potential for these varieties to thrive in Frankland River's dry climate, reminiscent of their own home.

Today, Laura and Tim pour their hearts into crafting wines that embody the spirit of togetherness and showcase the backbone of Frankland River. Each bottle is a labour of love, carefully nurtured from vine to glass, combining traditional styles from the varieties' origins with modern winemaking techniques. They strive to create wines that express themselves authentically, like our Shiraz, which pays homage to the history and traditions of their beloved home region.

RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO LED US HERE

As we embrace our passion for creating wines that tell the story of Frankland River, we do so with profound respect and gratitude for those who came before us. The legacy of this region is built upon the hard work, dedication, and vision of the generations who tended to this land long before we arrived.

From the indigenous custodians who nurtured the soil for millennia to the pioneering winemakers who first saw the potential in these rolling hills, we owe a debt of gratitude to all those who laid the foundation for the thriving wine community we are a part of today.

Their wisdom, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the land have shaped the character of Frankland River and instilled in us a deep sense of responsibility to carry on their legacy. We honor their contributions by striving to create wines that showcase the best of what this region has to offer, while always remaining true to the values of sustainability, quality, and respect for the earth.

As we move forward, we do so with a profound appreciation for the path that has been paved for us. We are committed to building upon the work of those who came before us, to nurturing the land with the same care and devotion they showed, and to creating wines that tell not only our own story but also pay tribute to the rich history and heritage of Frankland River.

In every bottle, we raise a glass to the generations who have shaped our winery and our family. Their spirit lives on in the wines we create and the love we pour into every aspect of our craft. We are proud to carry on their legacy and to share the beauty of Frankland River with the world, knowing that their hard work and dedication made it all possible.
